Remove the Hot Tub Without Taking Down the Yard Around It

Hot tubs and swim spas are often too large for the gate, deck stairs or side yard that surrounds them. Acrylic shells, cabinet panels, insulation, pumps and steel framing have to be separated into manageable pieces.

MD Junk Pros dismantles the drained and disconnected unit in place, protects the surrounding deck or patio and carries the sections along the planned route. The result is open space without a broken shell or foam debris left behind.

How Hot Tub Removal Works

01

Review access

We confirm dimensions, deck or patio conditions, stairs, gate width and that utilities are safely disconnected.

02

Break down the unit

The shell, cabinet, frame and equipment are separated into sections that can travel the available route.

03

Carry and clean

All included pieces are loaded, recyclable metal is separated when practical and the work area is swept.

These documented projects show fenced yards, deck access, a unit under a raised deck and a large swim spa dismantled on an elevated platform.

Severna Park, Maryland

Hot Tub Removal & Demolition, Manor Road

Colchester on the Severn · Fifty minutes start to finish

More work in Severna Park

This spa project demonstrates in-place dismantling, tight access and the separate shell, frame and cabinet pieces that must be carried out. A dead hot tub tucked into the back corner of a fenced yard off Manor Road. This is classic Severna Park housing stock, a 1970s rancher on a 7,500 square foot lot, with the fence line running close to the house and no alley or side access wide enough to roll anything out.

Ellicott City, Maryland

Hot Tub Removal & Demolition, Princess Lane, Kings Gift

Cut apart on the deck · Hauled in one visit

More work in Ellicott City

This spa project demonstrates in-place dismantling, tight access and the separate shell, frame and cabinet pieces that must be carried out. A hot tub on a raised backyard deck off Princess Lane, in Kings Gift on the western edge of Ellicott City, the Marriotts Ridge and Manor Woods side, where lots run to several wooded acres and the houses sit well back from the road.

Gambrills, Maryland

Hot Tub Demolition off Sinclair Lane

Off Sinclair Lane, Gambrills · Old hot tub cut down and hauled out

More work in Gambrills

This spa project demonstrates in-place dismantling, tight access and the separate shell, frame and cabinet pieces that must be carried out. This one sat under a raised deck on a Sinclair Lane lot, wedged against the house with the cover shot. You do not roll a waterlogged shell like that out whole, so we cut it down in place, carried the panels out past the deck posts, and swept the pad clean.

Clarksville, Maryland

Swim Spa Demolition & Removal, Triadelphia Road

Triadelphia Rd · near the Triadelphia Reservoir, Clarksville 21029

More work in Clarksville

This spa project demonstrates in-place dismantling, tight access and the separate shell, frame and cabinet pieces that must be carried out. Out near the Triadelphia Reservoir, off Triadelphia Road, a heavy swim spa sat on an elevated deck backing straight into the Patuxent watershed woods, there was no way to roll it out in one piece or crane it over the railing.

Questions answered

Hot Tub Removal FAQ

How do you remove a hot tub?
We break the hot tub apart on-site using reciprocating saws and other tools, then load the pieces into our truck and trailer. We don't need a crane or heavy equipment for most residential hot tubs.
Do you disconnect the hot tub electrical?
No. For safety reasons, we require the hot tub to be disconnected from electrical by a licensed electrician before we arrive. This is standard practice in the industry.
Does the hot tub need to be drained first?
Yes, the hot tub should be drained before our arrival. If there's a small amount of water remaining, that's fine — but the bulk of the water needs to be out.
Can you remove a hot tub from a deck?
Yes. We frequently remove hot tubs from decks, patios, and screened-in porches. We take care to protect the surrounding structure during the removal process.
How long does hot tub removal take?
Most hot tub removals take 1-3 hours depending on size, location, and accessibility. A hot tub on a ground-level patio is faster than one on a raised deck behind a fence.
How much does hot tub removal cost?
Pricing depends on the hot tub size, location, and accessibility. A standard residential hot tub in an accessible location is very manageable. We provide free estimates.
